In 2003 I received my first mosaic commission. The central pebble mosaic was made at home, then the surrounding images were placed into the wet concrete on the installation day. The main mosaic was formed on sand in reverse then concreted over with lifting lugs in the concrete. The platypus and the other images were carved out of slate. All the images related to the Eungella National Park.
After I met my partner, Francis, I learnt broken tile mosaic from him. We received a huge commission for three wave walls covered top, sides and front with mosaic.
Now, I am producing many different mosaics for our own art project: Castle Phoenix and surrounding sculptural gardens.
