The murals for the Irish Bar in Mackay Qld no longer exist as the bar they were created for changed hands and it was renovated in a different style. This commission in 2002 for all the walls and ceiling was the biggest commission I had ever undertaken. The walls were painted with roughly painted glazes over a base coat which gave the place a smokey look. My paintings were built up entirely with acrylic glazes so that the underpainting could show through. There were thirty paintings in all.
The dolphin mural to the left was a private commission and in the heat of Mackay was very enjoyable to paint.
