Watercolours are in a class of their own. It took years of practice to achieve even some mastery of the medium. I was given a commission for a huge watercolour of a client's house and garden. It was the biggest piece of watercolour paper I had ever attempted to paint on. I mixed up all the colours I wanted in the sky and wet the paper, let it soak in and then wet it again. While I was waiting for the paper to lose it's shine I prowled around the easel planning my attack. Once I started applying the wet on wet colours I kept going. I let it dry and placed one more layer of wet on wet colour and the sky was done and it was beautiful! I love it when a plan comes together!
